Thread: Got Whitefish?

I finally notched the whitefish off the got caught list. The Bay has overall been slow this year, as far as most of the locals told us.
Went off Red River in 15 feet of water and saw a lot of fish, but not a lot of biters. Caught 1 and missed one at the hole. As the ice fishing season has gone this year a camera is a must have with all my trips out seeing a very lite bite from all types of fish. Bottomed out the ice drill, so a good 3 feet of ice, but the access is getting thin and broken up. A number of rivers are starting to break up in places so that would bring a end to my ice fishing for the year. Time to get in to the basement and start setting up for the summers trout and salmon. The ice cover on Lake Michigan will bring a change in the patterns from the last couple of years, so I can't wait to get out there and start fishing.
