    If you look close you can see monofilament hanging down from the prop, a sickening sight.

    I lucked out, no mono in the rear shaft seal. Pulling the prop is the only way to be absolutely sure. Any time you pull a prop you must re-grease the splines before reinstalling the wheel.

    This Solas hardware has locking tabs, they must be folded back up fully so when you put your prop in reverse it does not back off the prop retaining nut.

    That is enough to scare the daylights out of you. Certainly will wreck a seal in a hurry

    "Regrease the splines", good to know. Haven't done that, not seen one that was hard to remove, but I'll do so going forward. tanks

    Good deal it wasn't back around the seals. Thank you for the heads up on the regreasing the prop shaft after every removal, too. Thank you John.
