Pretty much got it together. I ordered the little rod tensioner device from Mudhole, but need to get some springs for the yension on the thread spools. Looked at the local Lowes in the hardware section and didn't find anything. I have a fender washer outside of a nylon washer (nylon washer against the spool of thread) on both sides, but pulling thread out the wing nut still backs of too much, I.e. no tension on spool. Any suggestions???

Is it possible to flip the spool over so the direction of rotation doesn't back off the wing nut

I'll have to try that. I'm not sure. Thank you Jack.

I got a couple parts in today, actually not very long ago, so I'll see about getting the wrapper finished up in the morning. I think I need to recut the all thread shaft a might bit longer to make enough room for the springs. When I ordered the tensioner rod I had thought it was a mite bit longer. Zoomed in photos are very misleading, but it will work for sure.Name: 20230616_204931.jpg

It's together...woo-hoo. Just a couple cosmetics to take care of, and I'll be ready to fix some rods up. Have to wait till the 30th to order up some guides and epoxy, but then it's on. I can only order up one new rod set up a month right now, but in the mean time, I can be working on what wraps I want to put on my rods.
I'm told practice makes you better, so that's what I'll be doing, lol. Name: 20230617_085902.jpg

Nice Eric. Either that’s the largest coffee cup ever or there is some distortion in photo

I thought I had all the nylon washers and fender washers I needed. Either I did and put them where I thought I would find them, or didn't get enough. Yep I know, and no I moved everything on my little table there twice, not on there nor any where close so I'll be hittin' the hardware store for some fender washers and nylon washers.
Lookin at it, after cutting the top board back, shortening the bottom board this morning, I need to sand the top rear corner of the top board as the thread drags over that corner getting to the eyelet closest to me. Don't like that, so I have that, then some cosmetic paint that will seal the wood, and I'll be good to go...

I have the magnification up on the phone for the picture. It's actually the 16oz cup Slab has in the store...If I had one that large, as in the photo, I'd only need 20 cups a day instead of the 40 I drink now, lol.
