I have all these catalogs listed above. My problem is, ( and probably from not understanding ), I can't find a rod blank for 2-6lb line. Or am I just not understanding what I'm looking at on the discription pages...Looking at 9'-12' rods at all catalogs. Can someone explain it to me. Pm me if yo want. thanks. Eric, AKA" jamesdean".

    James,

It might be helpful to let us know exactly what you are looking to do with the rod? Is it going to be used to throw a float, jig lilly pads, long line troll, or kind of an ATV type of rod being able to do all of them?

Unlike rods purchased off from the shelf that might have a specific OZ weight maximum for the size bait it is intended for, or specific line weights, custom rods are built primarily on the weight of the rod (not how heavy it is but rather UL, Light, Medium Light, Medium ect...) as well as action. Understanding what the rod is going to be used for will weigh heavily on what type of blank that one might recommend!

As an example. Say you wanted a very light weight (light in the hands) rod in the 9 foot range that you can verticle jig light weight jigs, long line troll some very light weight jigs, or cast a float a country mile. I might recommend a Fly Rod blank in a 3 or 4 weight to build your spinning rod with!
