cast net or trap
in yalls experience what is the most effective way to catch minnows? I love using live bait weather it be worms or minnows but I hate paying lol
Back when quarantine started all the local bait shops closed down and I started using a seine in some tiny creeks to catch minnows. Hard work at first, but I've got the technique down better now. I can actually catch 4 dozen minnows in LESS time than it would take me to drive out to the bait shop. They're bigger and livelier too.
X2 on the seine and small creek.

What's the best bait to put in a trap? I've tried dog food with no luck and only catch baby bluegill and crawdads on bread.
Thx,
Chris
We used to put a can biscuit in the microwave for just a few seconds to toughen it up a bit then put it in the cone minnow trap. Worked good for us,hope it helps you.

i always used saltines a couple will do . fish love salt, ask anyone who has an aquarium.
I use cattle cubes in my wire traps for minnows and crawdads.
Basic minner trap with old bread in a minner populated area always works for me.
I had pretty good luck yesterday using a pc of Hot Dog buns that were about a week old.
