Hey guys,
Here's a picture of the swamp worms I keep on talking about. They stay on the hook better than red wigglers, have a strong odor, and are a very hardy worm.
They are very prolific.
The size is bigger than a red wiggler and smaller than a european nightcrawler.
I'm mailing a batch of these from cackalacky to arkansas next week.

Yeah that will be fine. Just make sure that the manure is at least three months old and has been very well rinsed. The swamp worms can't handle manure that isn't super well rotted, unlike the red wigglers.

Always called them a nightcrawler -- If you get too many in a bunch they die -- then every worm close buy die also -- like they turn Toxic
I have African NC /Red Wiggler/Lou Swamp Wms....Started all 3 in May ,1# of each ...They all in bins side by side With Peat and Kow , in controlled temp.70-75...all fed Purina WC and Chic Crumbles...LED light 24h.......
The Swampers are now probably 3 our 4 times as many...The Africans have declined in Numbers and Red Wig slight increase in Numbers..
I been thinkin about emptying the African bin and turning it into swampers maybe even the Red Wigglers and put swampers in it too...
I Really been impressed with SWAMPERS

These are not nightcrawlers, that's a common misconception. Louisiana swamp worms are a variation of a red wiggler, they are are a little tougher than a redworm, stay on the hook better, and have a strong odor.
Like CVA I have found these to outbreed all of my other worms, red wigglers included. For my own bait purposes, I use nothing else, because I haven't found a bait worm that is more effective.

Perchjerker - I have been raising red wigglers for years as well as soldier fly larvae. I may be interested in trying your swamp worms. Please shoot me a pm as to what you charge for a pound of the swampers
