I mostly use Jigs fishing the Channel [ River] in the Reservoir just up the road. Sometimes I buy Minnows by the Pound and keep what I dont take for later trips in my small metal Building. The shed is too hot for shiners in the Aqu. in summer. Most of the time I Tip the Jig with a Shiner. Half a Century ago we had a Gold hook under a cork, smallest weight above the hook where the Shiner could swim, and we caught the Snot out of Crappie around the big Cypress and did not have a clue how deep the water was... Lots of guys tie a hook straight to the main line above their Jig, Others use a loop with the Hook so the Shiner can at least look like an injured Minow and hang another on the Jig.. While thinking about what I can do different -- I remember fishing under that Cork ---- It makes Since to me the Jig needs to be above the long Tag end of the line with the single Hook for the Free swimming shiner. The Jig gets the Crappies attention, and the shiner on bottom seals the deal ---- Do any of you rig your lines this way???
