CrappiePappy told me about this yesterday and I searched high and low. I even ran a Google tool against the site and found nothing. If anyone has a more detailed error message, please let me know. I certainly do not want crappie.com spreading viruses.
I wasn't able to find an issue with either of our computers.
Mississippi Crappie and Alabama football...Life is good.
Thanks sbc. I'm still looking. I'm wondering if it was an ad that was served. There's really nothing else in that thread. No visible links at all. I'm still looking guys. Thanks for your help. If anyone does see it, an actual error message with something I can search on would really help a lot.
I removed that thread.
I accessed it when I was not logged in, and it tried to bring up Adobe Acrobat Reader. There's some sort of issue with it, so I'm looking into it still. Thanks for your help and patience. And good work keeping your virus protection up to date. Can't be too safe.
Everything I run against that URL and Crappie.com says it's clean. I don't know what to say. I'm still checking, but I have not found anything yet.

I've installed and executed more security software than you can shake a stick at, including chkrootkit and rkhunter, clamAV and more. The crappie.com server passed them all. Nothing was found. I also installed the same anti virus software on my home PC as the few who have reported the problem (AVAST), and I've never been able to recreate it. I want to thank those that have been working with me to find what the issue might be, but I'm kinda at a dead end. I'm not going to quit looking, but I've kinda run aground and have no where else to look. If anyone has log files, or more detailed information about what they have been receiving, please PM me. Who knows, some of the newly installed security software may prevent it from happening again, but you never know.
If you do encounter the "Threat" please take note of what crappie.com page it was, and let me know which browser you user, the release, and anything else that might help. I've really only had this reported to me by less than a handful of members, but I still want to address it. Thanks again for your patience and participation.
