First of all, thank you for giving me the opportunity to test these lines for ice fishing. I appreciate this very much. I tested the following lines this year.
Area Super Trout Master Limited 1.2#
ES2 Esterline Lemoni 2.3#
Extra Protect Perfect Bass Line 4#
Super Trout Advance Double Cross PE Braid 6#

All these lines performed well while fishing inside a heated shanty. Outside temperatures ranged from 12-22 degrees F. There was no line coil, memory, or freeze up. Knots remained strong and the line held up well even after rubbing against the edge of the auger holes.
When fishing with no shelter in temps from 10-22 degrees F, with windchills in single digits the following issues occurred:
1. The Super Trout Master Limited 1.2# became stiff. It did not feed down the hole well. Additionally, no fault of the line, the temperature, wind, and snow lessened the drag efficiency of the reel. At 1.2# there isn't much room for error or loss of smoothness with this line and I experienced a few breakoffs. Tying a lure to this line outside, in the wind, is a challenge! I look forward to using it this spring though!
2. The ES2 line also did not perform as well outside. The line stiffened, coiled some, and I had to use a heavier lure to get it to feed out and feel the bites. The Lemoni color was advantageous when tying lures on .
I had no issues with the Perfect Bass Line 4# or the Double Cross PE Braid 6#. The extra Protect Perfect Bass Line 4# was my favorite all around line. It handled all conditions smoothly and was easy to change lures with.
