    Default fluidbed painting question

I'm powder painting with a fluid bed, using a color I've used a lot (getting down to 1/2" in the bottom of the jar). But the last few painting sessions, I"m getting string-like clumps of paint forming in the fluidbed and sticking to my jigheads. Ugly clumping on the jigheads as they melt on. Can the powder get hot from a number of hot heads being dipped? Can the powder get old? It doesn't look like moisture-caused clumps, but heat caused. Otherwise, the coverage is good and curing in a toaster oven making good results. But random clumps form at times. Any ideas? Any experiences like this? Thanks.

I seem to remember another person having issues and they used a screen of some kind to run the powder through and it helped. I think their issue might have been moisture and once broken up and screened it was fine. I’m not sure.

Thought of doing that, but not sure what to screen it with. I'm thinking after painting, when I dump the powder back in the jar, I'm dumping clumps back in with it. If I can filter those out, I'll be better off. But what's causing the clumping to begin with?

I would think a Sieve would work.

I concur with the post above.

Head to the kitchen and borrow the Misses Sieve. Just don't tell her.
