Years ago I dipped in water but now a days I use heat shrink. Can get a 100’ roll off eBay under $10.
Do you guys use tin foil or something to cover the swivel when you dip? I read somewhere about a water trick but no video on how to do that. Thanks.
Also, to keep all of this in one post, I purchased a fluid bed from a company recently and it came with hard plastic instead of paper or coffee filter. The air doesn't make the paint flow like water. You think it's the hard plastic?
I am trying to get better at making jigs because I have some under spins too. The pink n black I used an exacto blade and cut the eyes out. I ordered some heat shrink for the hook eyes.
I opened an Etsy shop and these below are what I have so far. I ordered over 15 colors yesterday.
Thanks for any help you pros .... lol

Yes, when they are already bladed foil is my way. If it is just the swivel it is shrink wrap all the way. I use shrink wrap on my tie eyelet too.
Tried the water trick but went back to covering with tin foil, just make sure to take the tin foil off before baking the heads!!
I like tin foil but it is so tenuous to me. Drives me up the wall, but it is very efficient so I would say what ever is best for you.
I wrap foil on the inserts of my herring underspins but not on all my other molds with just the crane swivels. A little paint won't hurt on a crane swivel as long as it spins easily. Never used a fluid bed so no help there. My jigs come out fine without it.
I think that has a lot to do with the size of swivel or hook eye. I work with jigs from 1/32 to ! ounce. so I have many sizes. Thank goodness it is cheap like me.
Sorry for the late reply. Been in Cardio Rehab trying to get this old ticker back to the norm. I had open heart surgery.
I got some split rings and I'm rolling now! I got like 18 colors now. LOL. I've gotten pretty good at it. I've got pics on my facebook and IG. I ordered some silicone 1/16" tubing and it is soooo much better than heatshrink.
