The only thing I can think of is try some different companies hooks. Some have a little more shank on the wire between the eye and the bend.
The 1/2 ounce cavity allows the hooks to move a little even with the right size hook. When I use a smaller hook than recommended the hook moves and can cause the eye to be buried in the jig head, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. If I push the hook back the eye sits well in the hole so it pours clean. Just have to clamp it down so the mold angles the hook back so the eye stays in the hole so it doesn't get buried.
I thought maybe there was a technique or a cheat for using smaller hooks that might be able to move around a lot.
The sprue rocked off very well even though it is quite large.

They look good... I started out pouring jigs last year and now I'm up 4 molds and want more. I pour jigs for crappie and walleye. You should see my tie flying material i collected in1 year.. It's gotten out of control and I told my wife we would save money.
