Like Grumpy on the few occasions mine has lumped up I just stole wife’s flour sifter and ran it through that. I take a coffee filter sit sifter on that and run it through does just fine after that.
I have done this too. I put the powder on a cooky sheet, broke up best I could. Let it dry well and then run through a fine sifter. I threw away the little clumps and chalked it up to a lesson learned. The paint I saved worked just fine as I aerated it for hours to dry completely.

I have original Pro-tec 1lb powder paint in several colors and Clear too. Bought it with several round fluid beds, extra cups, etc. the last time the ASA Show was in New Orleans. How many years ago 25? To answer shelf life question, the red takes a much hotter head to flow out right. All the colors take a little different technique to get good coverage without plugging hook eye. Some have to be swirled a bit, some fast in and out of the bed. All still melt on heated heads. I do mix with clear to get better flow out on some colors. My original, vibrating, fluid beds still work too. All are stored in the AC, in enclosed cabinets, never exposed to light until in use or exposed to humidity (used outside).

I just started powder painting. I have about 8-9 Pro tec colors, counting clear. I've found that char. yellow and char. green are tougher for me. When I bake in toaster oven, they start to drip. None of the other colors do this for me. Should I cut it with clear? I need advice from the experts!
If your just dipping into jar your getting to much paint on head. Ideal thing is a fluid bed where paint is lifted up by air and thinned out. If not try shaking jar to fluff it up then quickly dip jig and remove so as to try to reduce the amount of paint it picks up. It’s one of those thing you just have to learn by practice. Be patient it will come to you.

I am using a fluid bed. The char. yellow and char. green just seem to act differently, even with the fluid bed. I thought about cutting it with clear to see if I can do better.
I cut all my colors with clear......

For those who have lumpy paint... I would suggest you get a mortar and pestle set. You can then grind your powder when it becomes lumpy due to moisture. I paid $13 for minds at Ross. It was money well spent.
