I can’t remember but can you use saw dust to flux lead? It seems like I read this somewhere or maybe not🤔

Yes you can use sawdust. A bit of a mess. I use candle wax. You can get a big mess of small tea cup size candles at Walmart. For a few bucks. Works real good, cut off a small piece throw in the lead, will smoke take a lighter and set the smoke on fire. Be careful flames up real high. Take a spoon or something and mix in the fire. Then skim off the dross.
The best thing my dad ever gave me was his love of fishing.
Saw dust or wax both work.

Just be careful where you are fluxing. Preferably outside because of the smoke and I have had wax go over side of pot and catch on fire. Be careful when stiring that you don't splash any on you. I use an old long screwdriver with handle to stir. Whatever you stir with is going to get hot in a hurry.

Have always used candle wax from yard sales. Never heard of sawdust so I guess I learned something today.
