    Default Hooks for Jig Head

I'm getting my stuff ready to start pouring. Will be pouring 1/24, 1/32, 1/64.
I want to use the sickle hook #6.
Question is do I need a special mold for it to replace the eagle claw 570 or the 575.

Think I will be ordering a Jacob's mold.

Eagle claw makes a sickle hook that has the interchangeable with the 570 or 575. They call them little nastys. Yo can get them at Grizzly Jigs

I'd get my hooks at captain hooks. I prefer matzuo sickle hooks over eagle's lil nasties. Have had both and that's what I prefer.

I like the Lil Nasty sickles. To me, they are more consistent and better barb.

I tried matzuo in 1/0 I use them for pushing minnow here on Grenada. Barbs were so small had trouble keeping minnow on them

Eagle Claw Lil Nasty be better suited for minnow setup. The barb of the hook curves in more than a Matzuo.

You will save a lot of time & money using EC Lil Nasty hook. The quality control is night/day.
I have dropped more fish with Matzuo hooks and hardly any with EC. Prefer the Black Nickle plating.
You will be happy with a Jacob's mold - cleaner jigs.

What size hook are you guys using for casting jigs? I have been wanting to make my own jig heads for a long time. I might as well take the plunge

It's really up to you. Some likes a bigger hook and some likes the smaller hooks. I have poured 1/8 oz Jigs using hooks from size 2/0 down to a size 8 and also on the other size heads.
    For my use I like a size 2 on 1/8, size 4 on 1/16 & 1/24, size 6 & 8 on 1/32, size 8 & 10 on 1/64 and size 10 on 1/80 & 1/100
