What bait do you present with this set up?

2.5” carrot or 3” slab slayer. Usually I’m double dipping and have an 1/8 oz non underspin as top jig and 1/4 oz underspin as bottom jig. Sometimes I tip with a minnow. Been getting into some one jig and one poling action lately though.

Very nice, what's the difference between the walleye and the herring head?

Here are some comparison pics with the Herring head. The one thing I hate about the Herring head is the barb. You have so little room to get the bait on before it hits the flat side of the head. I prefer the Walleye barb style and it is very similar to the egghead which I like and have comparison pics below of too.

I do find that bending the wire insert to a 90 degree angle helps. If you dont it tends to wiggle out of head when fished. I’m also trying out harder lead to see if this helps. Using a 94-96% lead with 4-6% antimony ratio now instead of the 100% lead I’ve been using.

Forgot to post how I did the mod. I simply used the hook eye next to the cavity modding for the bulk of the wire insert.
