Size: 21.9 KBModified my minnow head mold to accept the Do-it WEY525 wire form.Like the herring head but wanted a smaller 1/16 oz with smaller hooks(#4 sickle's) for crappie. Also modified the 1/8 oz.

I looked at those on doits site and did not like how far down they hang. Make my own wires with .020 and have modified several molds. Just pinned and wired a 1/4 oz. The 1/8th I fish has caught a lot of crappie. Pics later on the 1/4. The pinned eyes came out nice. Also did the minnow head and really like it!

You could trim and rebend the insert I'm sure. They did a one size fits all for the whole mold.

    Looks good!

Got the idea from you post. Thanks Ifish. Tried the shorter arm in a small lake close to the house and the thick Chenille/crystal braid(we like and use) hit the blade on retrieve.Went back to the longer wire (also make and bend my own).Tried several different length's and thickness. The ones in the pic the blade turned easy and every time.On Our home lake the Roadrunner is king during the crappie spawn. Espically the 1/16 oz.The ones we get are cheaper made and the blade does not spin(not knocking roadrunner/blakemore) good friend's. Trying to make or own crappie spin's.Really like the sickle hooks also. Thanks Ifish for the post really enjoyed your idea's

We make our on in different lengths and thickness. The ones by Do-it seems to be the right length for the 1/16-1/8-1/4 to keep the blade from hitting and not turning.which we what the blade to turn every time. Thank's.We have hybrid striper's in our lake that loves to take the blade away from you and does right at the boat.LOL
