    Default 1/24th oz jighead mold

I thought I seen on here somewhere that Do-It molds started making a 1/24th oz mold. If so I can't find one.

They have a 1/32 and 1/24th oz combined mold with wire keeper but it takes Owner hooks. Round Head Jig - Sz: 1/32, 1/24 - Hk: 570 or 575 - Collar: Wire Holder

    or check Jacobs baits

I have the Do-It 1/32-1/24 mold. I hve cast Matzuos, standard 570's, the Lil Nastys and Mustads in the mold without issue. The only hook problem I have encountered was up sizing the hook sizes....the 1/32 is listed as 6 or 4, but the 4 can be a pain. The mold casts beautiful jigs with and without the wires. Check Barlows or Nettcraft or Zeiners for the mold.

    Fatman...

Once in a great while I like a #2 hook cast inside 1/32 head. The hook literally weighs more than the lead I think. I use this jig for larger plastics using soft plastic, which tends to be neutrally buoyant or floatable. The little extra weight helps to slowly sink these plastics while offering more hook at the fish end of things. I have a couple older collar-less molds altered to accept the #2 hooks for when I want to mold them. Actually these two altered molds will put the head on a #1 hook. I prefer to fish as light as I can with as large as I can, meaning I don't like much weight [jig] but I like size [plastic]. Its a balancing act.

Many of the better walleye anglers in this region who fish the Mississippi River the year round are beginning to subscribe to the same idea by using much lighter jigs with plastics on lines at 4 to 6 pounds. I've used this approach to my crappies for about 10 years now and in the last 5 years have seen an increase from walleye buddies wanting the larger hooks in almost nothing sizes of jigs.

I have a 1/24 jacobs. One of the best molds I have because of the tight fit. Almost no trim after the pour unlike some of my do it's.
