    Default 1/80 oz heads

I had someone ask me about 1/80oz jig heads. Does anyone do them that small?

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Yeah, they look almost the same as a 1/64th, #8 or 10 hook. I have a bunch on #8 gold sickles. I'm sure we have someone that sells them on here.

Got some friends that want real lite head with #2 Hook. I cut 1/32 Bullet head in half and that way have a good barb and very small head......1/64th or there about.....works for them with 2 inch curley tails.....

I'm ignorant about such things. It seems to me that 1/80 oz. is the weight of the hook, if not more. Wouldn't gnats be the same thing?

That small I'd think you need to have a spincaster - check with Bugman, he may have a spincast mold for them but not listed on his site. Doesn't hurt to ask.

    They're not uncommon...this mold has it and all crappie sizes... Round Head Jig - Sz: 1/80, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 - Hk: 570 or 575 - Collar: None

Personally I don't use any smaller than 1/64th but I have 1/80th on hand. I vertical jig with 1/64th #8 jigs with a split shot above it...works great.

I hand pour my semi-custom Do-It mold that casts 10 jigs at a time. The mold has to be HOT and the lead has to be pure and hot as well. Hotter than what I would normally cast , say, 1/32 at. I don't sell them though.

The mold is machined after its cast which drives the price up to about $120.00 retail. Hand pouring can be putsy so if you don't have patience, don't even bother with it. The mold will handle #10 and #12 EC Lil Nasty sickle hooks beautifully. I have the same mold in 1/64 and have the same results hand pouring with it.

I pour some 1/80 oz for personal use since I have the do it mold with all the various sizes so it's one at a time... I am sure someone pours them on here or cabelas used to carry down to 1/100 oz... I have some 1/124 oz with #10 hook which are really tiny but work great at times for a really slow fall
