That is a good looking jighead but it also looks like it will tear a plastic bait apart while putting it on. Have you tied it yet, looks like the barb is thick. Would be a great head to tie on after the barb is removed or for bucktail style jigs.

I haven't fished it yet but I would think it would be great with mid south tubes or umbrellas and should be alright on bigger solid body stuff like my pickpockets if you are careful when putting the plastic on the barb.

I too would prefer less lead in the area for the barb. a lure that hangs tail down seldom gets a bite. the weight forward is good for spider Rigging or trolling, getting the Jig in the zone

These jigs do hang head down really well...if ya notice the head is wider than say a...round head jig...so there's more weight "up front", even with the lead collar like it is.
An Outdoor Channel Outfitter has field tested and proven these jig heads and will only fish with these...him and his 4 other fishing guides.

These jigs work very well with umbrella skirts and some other types of skirts also....

I can see where a hollow bodied tube would work on the jighead. Thanks for the info.

I can see some nice hair jigs tied on those if they didn't have a collar - you looking at doing any like that?? 1/32nd and 1/16th with black chrome sickles?

Right now i only have the 1/8 which weighs in at .12 and i could make them without the collar like the one in the pic and it weighs .09 i hope to have other sizes in the future.
