    Default Do-It's Bat Jig....beefed up

Do-It came forward with what they call the bat jig this year and it is a doozie. Multiple sizes in the mold....1/32, 1/24, 1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4. All take the #6 Wacky hook that Do-It sells. The concept of the forward eye on these heads is great but the size 6 hook in the larger couple sizes didn't sit well with me so I did a little hocus-pocus stuff and now have the mold able to handle the larger #2 wacky hook. The 2 larger head sizes are great for walleye and since they are a swimming style head, NOBODY else has them. I'm likin that aspct.

Here's a picture showing the 1/24 and 1/4 so you can see the hook size difference.

I used 1/16 and 1/32 ball- heads cast on wacky hooks all last fall with super success. The swimming action your plastic attains on these heads with the wacky hook is incredible and the fish were darned quick to support the concept. I'll never use another conventional jig while casting and retrieving swimming type plastics again. The new head design will be a dynamite walleye head for casting shallow water with swim plastics for the walleyes.

Did Good on that mold Ctom!! We really like it we pitch(bass fish'n pitch'n and flipping) and short cast to cover!! This design swims through the toughest cover!!! Hooks are kind of pricey but worth it and some good sizes really like the 3/32 and 1/8 oz sizes!! that 1/24 is a good one too We think a swivel and willow leaf blade will work good allso!!

can you put up a pic with a plastic mounted on that? I would like to see how much hook exposure there is. I think that would work well for speckled trout in the 1/4 ounce size.

Here's a 4" Ringworm mounted on the head. Plenty of gap.

Tom, I wonder if a hitch hiker on the front and skin hook the bait would kind of make it weedless. I designed a shaky head a few years ago with a wire on top to thread the bait and bend the wire over and then skin hook the bait and PJ lures copied the idea before I could get it out. That whacky hook looks doable on a weedless concept. Nice dremal work by the way. You have some good ideas and should start your own bait company!
