Lot of discussion over at the Do-It site - I was interested in it when the ICAST video came out and showed it would have no collar and the wire keeper. When the final version came out the recessed eyes are great but due to requests from Tournament fisherman they added the short lead collar, that's what I didn't like about it, and from further discussion you'd have to mold the mold if you wanted to use a #2 hook in it . It was designed for fishing in wood and weeds. Right now the only one I know who carries the hook is do it.

I will be getting it soon, but the day after I get it, I will be taking it to the machine shop to get modified.

Those are a marriage of several things. Looks to be a 60* bend that is used in a swim jig. For me, I need a 90 cuz I don't do very much swimming with a jig, mostly deep jigging and lately, more of a dead stick approach. I'm sure they'll get quite a bit of use though.

I would think that would be a great jig for longlining, I don't normally use a lot of weed guard jigs unless in heavy trees but I wondered if these jigs could be made weedless

It wouldn't take much to modify it to accept a wireguard i imagine i will do just that at some point.

The hooks lend themselves to making superb swimming jigs. I've modified several molds to using them and they offer a whole lot higher hook-up percentages when cast and retrieved. The hook has a 35 degree leg and the hooks come in size 6 and size 2 only. Its a Do-It design hook but some catalog outfits offer them.

The people I know who have been casting the bat jig are liking it despite that short collar. Apparently a plastic slips right over it. The wire keeper for that jig I believe is slightly longer than the conventional #400 wires and has to be longer to get past the collar. Again, those that I know who are casting and using the jig are ok with the design. To me its too much like the minnow head with the wire and I already have that mold so I'll pass on the bat for now.
