Not a Pro have and old lee 10 lb melting pot and a newer lee 10 lb melting pot the work great for pouring a bunch of leadheads. But for pouring spinnerbaits, roadrunners(pony heads) and hard to pour molds the lee palmer lead melting hot pot 2 works for us!! Have two of them keep them both hot and pour a lot of lead!! When one of these goes out will replace with another!!!

Yes, they will rust up and you need to clean it out by scraping it real good. Then if you have one a wire brush on a drill helps. You might also look at the wire that lifts the plunger, it may need to be bent just a little, sounds as if it is not letting plunger seat completely. I actually bought and replaced my plunger last year. Think it was about 6.00.

Well I am disappointed with lee service in the fact that by the time I ship $10 cost my pot to them and a return pot to me cost $63.76. I can buy a new 4 20 pot about the same price. Not much of a deal to me

My new Lee 20 lb pot leaks worse then my drooling teething kid. Has leaked since 1st pour. I just deal with it and periodically throw leaked lead back in pot.

I have a Lee 10lb and have had a 20. Didn't care for the 20 and sold it pretty quick, clearance underneath as best I can remember. My 10 lb drips occasionally but if clean does very well with just a light drip if any. I didn't clean some of my lead well enough and there is schmutz in it that fouls the funnel in the bottom of the pot where the rod seats. When mine drips it's dirty and needs cleaned, once that's done it's back to business. I have to say that when cleaning there is as much danger of lead dust and you need to clean it with a fan blowing the dust away. I haven't done this myself but I wonder if you couldn't seat the rod better by putting it in a drill and spinning it where it seats Gently to mate the surfaces. Auto valves have been seated like this forever and I think it might work if too much pressure wasn't applied. If mine starts to drip during a pour I take a screwdriver and rotate the rod back and forth a few times and whatever is causing the problem is moved out of the way. Can't say it enough that when you're cleaning the lead when you first get it you must flux and stir and not be in such a hurry to finish. Dirt and contaminants cause a lot of the problems we deal with.
