    Okay I have a question for you guys. What makes the vein undercoat show up and how do you apply the top coat? Also, does the top coat have to be a candy?

    i don't really know the chemistry involved but I bet it has something to do with the "vein" powder's are 2 part combos & when applied correctly & the heat liquifies, separation occurs causing the dark blotches on the named coating.hey, that'd be my guess anyway! LOL! As for top coats, to be able to see the veining underneath, the top coat would need to at least be simi-transparent.

    Which means a candy or are there other non candy paints that will work? I really like the way those you've painted come out is the reason for the asking. Cool stuff.

    Pappa, you can make just about any color a Transparent top coat. I prefer the candies but I've made a Trans Gold

    and a Trans Electric Blue (above, the top jig & below, the left jig are the Trans-color over a plain jighead)

    I like the Rosey's Gold better than the Columbia Gold. The Rosey's looks like it stands out better in the pics.
