Looking for a sealer to cover stick on eyes on crappie jigs that won't discolor or turn yellow in the plastic boxes or sun. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks Gary

I am not sure about changing color to yellow but Snake River recommended that I try vinyl paint for that. I will powder paint the head, bake, stick on the eyes, and then dip the complete head in the clear vinyl , dab off any excess and then let dry for about 24 hours. I have not had nor heard of any eyes coming off since switching to this method.
Hope this helps,
Bobo
But what type of clear varnish. Is it a special type or what you could get at the hardware store?
How about a clear nail polish

you can get it at Bass Pro
I use Duco cement, haven't had any come off yet.
Doesn't vinyl paint react to plastic baits if left in contact over time? you might want to keep that in mind going the vinyl paint route.CF

I use CS coating in clear and UV for a cover coat. The coating is a latex and goes not discolor the heads.
Vinyl paint after it has cured and out-gassed will not react to plastisol based plastics. Enamel based paints and nail polish will melt plastic very fast. We have done extensive tests with different paints and CSI Coatings Vinyl paint seems to be the best we have tested so far. Createx (Wicked Line) acrylic water based paints hold for a while but the plastic will mess up the painted eyes after a while and the eyes slide right off.
