The only colors of powder that I've seen any trouble with is White and Chartreuse - there are a few threads about this.
Those of you who are painting eyes: is finger nail polish compatible with powder and if so do I need to clear it afterwards? I haven't painted eyes yet but it doesn't seem the jigs are finished without them. What say the pros?

Thanks Fatman. I figured there were I just wasn't able to locate them. I'll look harder. Personally I really don't think the crappie turn down a jig thinking they won't inhale anything without eyeballs!
I use paint sticks for painting the eyes or acrylic paints. You don't have to top coat them but the top coat can give them depth.

The finger nail polish will melt plastic if they touch. They will also melt together in a hot box on the boat. I use vinyl or water based paints. Ruined a lot of paint jobs. Createx is the best waterbase paint I have tested in a water bath for 1 week. CSI is the best vinyl paint but it has some fumes and you have to use their thinner.
