I have made "alcohol burners" for "survival gear" to carry while I was hunting or hiking in the woods for an extended period of time. These were made to burn denatured alcohol. You could actually boil water with one if you wanted to wait long enough. Is this kind of what you are talking about? If so how do you use one for powder coating. I am very interested since I already have a "burner". Thanks ahead of time for any imput. Bobo

Yes sir way to go especially if ya live in the hills like me .You can make your own alcohol to burn or as an internal antifreeze in the winter . Warm on the inside and out . Just remember excessive warmth on the inside will get you burned fingers . LOL

Thanks for all the good info. I'd like to find one that I can lay on my shop bench. I may have to stop by an check out your set up Mr. Curtis. I know you put lots of jigs out fast. I'm not into pouring but a friend at work gave me a box full of powder paint. He also gave me a jig mold an pot. Pretty cool stuff. I like the painting part

Bobo, you use it much the same as a heat gun or propane torch & yes, I burn denatured alcohol. I hold a jighead with a hemostat and heat it over the flame for a 3-4 count on each side then dip the head in my powder paint container. It works perfectly. You can look at my web site & see some of my painted heads. As with anything else, you have to find the right timing over the flame. The first time I used it, I melted the lead right off the hook. LOL.

I have tried them all and have each one but for me the al burner works the best. You really need to try as many ways as you can, you will find the best for you.
