You can get some at TJ's Tackle he carries it if you absolutely need to go that route - but as plate said you'll have to watch how much you put in so you don't end up with a bumpy head - may have to add some clear or do a two dip
    Welcome to TJ's Tackle

If you buy from Do-IT or CS you'll pay more - I have some sites at home I'll post some when I get home tonight.

How do you know which ones are safe to use with powder paint? I like the prices of Joanns, which size would be close to CSI glitter? I think the fine would be but guessing. If it is safe for PP then I will definately get that and maybe get some medium too for my own stuff. I have some spoons to paint and that might works really well.

It is a gamble......just my thought. I am cooking at 375 with CC brand paint as instructions indicate. Try the extra fine over med unless you are looking into bass lures is my thoughts. Also I just picked up another brand from Hobby Lobby last night. Will keep you posted on the RnD. Been recently playing with super fine mica to tap brush a coating. Purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Fish - I learned all that I know of glitter from the folks here and other boards and you have truthfully the same questions that myself and others had when we first started. With all the stuff folks have tried I don't think it's a gamble anymore.

I have glitter from Michaels, JoAnnes, Hobby Lobby (only when I'm home near Buffalo), AC Moore, WalMart and Kmart. They include Creatix, Nicole Crafts, Tulip, WOW, JoAnnes own brand and whatever brand the stuff is from WalMart and Kmart. I believe it was Rad or Cadman that told me that CS glitter was fine. I prefer fine and extra fine (the Nicoles stuff is labled as Ultra) All of it works!!! You can check with the Plastics guys as there stuff works too - they may find it in larger quantities that what we get at the stores. Now most of my jigs are 1/16th or less, any that I do up to 1/8 I use the fine/extra fine, depends on how big you want the glitter size to show on the head.

I cure at 330 for 25 mins. if I'm doing 2-3 racks and 330 for 30 mins. for 4-6 racks, and have never had a problem with any of it. I do find that adding clear helps, until I learned that lesson I had a few bumpy ones.

If you buy clear - get it by the pound you'll be surprised how much you'll use!!!!!!! I've used clear from Orbit, Columbia, CS and Rosy's. It's all good stuff, haven't found one yet that doesn't work with any powder or glitter.

If you really want to get into the powder - check out the pack the Rosy's put together for fisherman!!! If I didn't have most of the colors already I'd get it!!!

Almost all the paint I have is from Roseys back when she was doing auctions mostly. I will have to get ahold of her again and see if she remembers me. I asked her enough questions she should, lol.

    That sample pack is tempting.

That is where I got the Candy Apple red I am going to be adding the glitter to. Maybe I can convince her to carry glitter.

Post a copy of your Candy Apple red, I'd like to see how close it is to ruby slipper from CS. If it's really close Pepop made up some from colors he got from Rosys. Alot of people are switching to the auto powders and mixing is taking off.

CS has a few colors I havnt been able to match from CC, Rosys, and others but you get all us fisherman buying everything but their powder the price would come down, although I'm liking the non CS stuff better

That is the best I can get for an image. Hope it helps. I think that the holographic glitter should show through it even when mixed but I may be wrong. All I can do is get some and find out if I am going to have it easy or if I will have to paint, cure and paint again in a clear coat with the glitter.

And I agree with lking the non CSI PP better. I have never had an issue with anything from Roseys not coating properly and I get a much better coating when dipping in a container with Roseys than dipping in the CSI jars. I do prefer a fluid bed and even with them I get a better coat from Roseys.

fish - get yourself a separate jar and take a teaspoon of your candy color and and 1/8th teaspoon of glitter and shake it real well and dip a head - if not enough glitter shows add some more until you get it the way you want.

IF - it doesn work the way you want - make a mix of clear and glitter, dip your head color re-heat the head and dip in the clear and glitter.

I ordered from tjs tackle. CSI I had to order a pound and I have no use for that much glitter of any color. 4 ounces should be more than enough for what I need to paint in the CART and for adding to my copper transparent and anything else for a while.

I will post pics when I get it sometime next week.
