Opening and closing the door all the times seems like it would lower the temp very quickly....I have a really good one, Delonghi and will try it and see.

Buckslayer we all have a toaster oven to cure the heads we paint.
Using the oven to heat your heads, how many heads do you paint at a time and how do you remove the jigs from the oven without getting burned. I can see doing a few jigs like that if the jigs were hanging in the front of the oven but if the jigs are in the back? How about posting a video of you painting your jigs using the oven to heat them.

I hang them on the racks all in the same direction and then use hemostats to grab them. I use the 6" curved hemos. Oven is only opened for a couple of seconds. I can put about 150 5/8 oz. jigs in the toaster oven that I have. Be careful not to put too much weight on the rack. I have an Oster 6-slice toaster oven I got on E-Bay. As I remove them from the front it does get to the point where I can't reach in and get them without burning my hand so I just grab ahold of the rack with hemo's and give it a quick jerk and shove to make all the jigs slide forward. You can usually go 5 or 6 deep before you have to do that.

I have a series of videos on our website but they were made years ago before I started using a toaster oven (use heat gun in the videos). I plan on making more videos. Maybe I can do that sooner rather than later... if/when I do I will definitely post them.

Thanks for the reply Buckslayer. We all are willing to learn and if some way is better than what I'm doing now I'm all ears and eyes I know I have read that some of our members use the oven to heat the heads but I don't remember who it is. Look forward to more details and I am going to try it soon.

Well I painted some more jigs for a buddy and tried a couple different things.

I used a hot air gun set on low.

Turned the fluid bed air Down to almost nothing...no boiling affect , just enough to make it move freely in the fluid cup.

Heated the jig for 3 seconds on both sides...dipped the jig and shock them around in the powder a few times...and they came out like this...

I think they are Alot Better....I also used the hot air gun on the other colors and turned the air down on the fluid bet and they all seemed to turn out Better....

I think it was a combination of the heat gun and the air in the fluid bed....but more the fluid bed air I think...
Just thought I would share me experience....I'm learning slowly

Is that right out of the bed??? or fully cured??? It looks good if that's the final cure.

I used to heat my jigs in the oven then dip in the powder but once I tried the heat gun that was it!! if you're using the toaster oven make sure to get a thermometer to make sure your heat is right!!!

That is out right out of the bed.

I tried the toaster oven to heat my jigs...I have a thermometer....and watch the temp .....and didn't have very good luck.

So I went to the heat gun....and it worked for me.

I also think turning the air down helped a lot.....
