Sounds like you are heating the heads to long. Try cutting your heat time in half before dipping in the clear.
I just bought a jar of clear with flake mixed in already. Only problem I'm having is it seems I have to get to thick a coat to get the flake to show up. I know a lot of this just takes practice. I bake mine in the oven and when I have added the clear sparkle I am getting drips or nipples any suggestions? I am dipping in a fluid bed.

Dip you jigheads in crazy anglers BAITFISH it adds a glitter finish after you dip it in your preferred color. Also it may darken the color.
Over at Tackle Underground alot of the guys have posted negative comments about the glitter powder mix, and recommend just getting clear and mixing your own glitter.
I have found that with the glitter powder mix is that the glitter will settle towards the bottom of the jar. Turn the jar up side down and shake a few times and then turn upright. That will put more glitter towards the top.
THE BEST TIME TO FISH IS WHEN IT'S RAINING AND WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING
I've gotten good results with the glitter/mix powder paint using an oven with thermometer for consistent temps on the jigheads, then dip in a fluid bed. Have to make sure paint is staying mixed well. Jighead time in the paint depends on how much glitter you want on the head. Longer time in will result in a thicker clear layer with more glitter showing. Less time, less glitter.
Do some trial and error for what works best for you. Use lowest temp that gets a consistent paint coat. Don't have the head hot enough to glaze over instantly, let the curing process complete the glaze over after the paint is applied. You can always add a second coat of paint but hard to take off when it's too thick.

I bought a 5 piece set of glitter a walmart. The three metallic colors look good, not sure about the WH. & BL.. I then made a salt shaker out of the plastic cover using a small brill bit.
I then painted a light coat of latex head cement over the jig head. The jig head is then sprinkled with glitter and allowed to dry. After the cement is dry I painted the heads with CS seal coat.
The heads have a nice sparkle with a durable finish.
