    I had one. They’re known as having a weedless drive, it’s on a downward angle. And it works. I drove through weeds of every kind and they would wrap around the housing but not get tangled and stop forward motion. Very light, direct drive, very simple motor. Would make a great trolling motor for a boat of size.

    That would be a mid 50s model.
    I bought a new 35 horse in 1955, same style and color.
    It was the biggest Johnson made at that time.
    The Evinrude in the background would be early 70s.
    I still have one of those in 6 hp.
