Default Good day at Shenango lake

Took my buddy Junious out to teach him my hang gliding technique yesterday. He’s a quick learner and he caught on quickly. We put over thirty nice crappies and a few nice white bass in the boat. Didn’t fish deeper than 12 feet.

That’s a nice tailgate full of good eats! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Here is a video of Chaunc and his technique with Russ Bailey of Brushpile Fishing.

Had a good day crappie fishing at Shenango lake yesterday. Monday my nephew called and said he couldn’t find but two keepers. Asked him how deep he was fishing. Twelve and deeper was his answer. Told him I’m going to check shallow brush. It payed off big time. Nothing deeper than nine ft water.

Did it again today. Same baits, different area of the lake. Put a limit of good solid blacks in the box today.

I tied some hair jigs yesterday and they worked so well, I tied a few more of them today. These are on 1/64 oz heads I got from my friend Joe Montello. He’s a local guy that pours jigs. Simple ties but very effective under a bobber.

Took a friend out yesterday and we had a lot tougher time. Between snags, tangled line and missed fish, we only managed to put 13 fish in the box. Nice fish though. Still fished the same pattern as all week. Fish were there but snagging the brush and missing them was the problem. I’ll try again next week and hopefully do better.
