I went out for a while today too. Got 11 keepers with 9 over 10"s and one 13" that had to weigh close to 2lbs. Full of eggs and thick as heck. 3 of them looked like they were ready to drop their eggs. Full of blood and very runny. Should be on the banks next warm spell.

    That sounds like good news.

I was out this last Saturday and got a couple bites......I think they were bites. We did find some water temps of 53 degrees in the afternoon, but still couldn't catch any. We tried all depths in various areas of the lake. I got a bunch of vacation starting on the 9th of May. I am hoping they will be jumping in the boat then. Proly see you guys on the lake. Good luck.....although I know Chaunce doesn't need any.

Mark, I think by May 9th the fishing will be on and you will have a grand time on the lake. Try the more difficult areas and out of the way areas for some of the finest fishing. Good luck, hope to see ya on the water. Gary

We also went out yesterday afternoon/evening with good luck in 10ft drifting and 2-6ft casting. Sonar reported 54 degrees on the lower part of the lake and almost 60 degrees in the upper part.

Went out today and did Ok. Put 7 nice ones in the cooler. One was 13 inches with a couple 12 inchers. Water temp was from 53 to 58 degrees. Fished for about 3 hours and caught one gill. Cruised into a tree about 11:00 am, tossed in a Charlie Brewer slider jig and got bit. I got 4 more from the exact same spot in about ten minutes. When I say the exact spot, I mean in the same square foot of that fallen tree. Couldn't get bit anywhere else on that tree. Got two more slow rolling a grub around some submerged stumps.

Not a big haul, but we had fish for dinner.

    Later,

    Mark

I also fished Shenango today and got skunked. I painted fish in 10 FOW and did not get one bite. Guess I will have to buy the How To Catch Crappie Video that the KCA is going to sell.

just got done cleaning fish, although it is still slow for this time of May, I took 20 -10" crappie from shore. I think it will be a few days of stable weather before you can expect good shallow water/wood fishing. Temps are varied through out the lake and at different times of the day. Gary

Well last night they were gone from the areas that I caught them from on the previous day. The water appeared to be more stained than the day before and still feels cold. Gary U

Saturday at Shenango was wild!!! Tons of boats fishing the wood and shallow bays. I stopped in on the way home from turkey hunting and watched some boats fishing via my binos and did not see much action. Lots of Amish at Golden Run, again not much fish in their buckets. Stopped by at a few shore sticks tonight and the guys (regulars ) report that the fishing was slow. The water was still stained and muddy at points. Hope this weeks stable weather brings them on. Good luck and good fishing, Gary
