Not doing any good. The water is rising daily since last wednesday. Haven't seen any fish caught since then. I've tried a number of diffrent baits but no luck yet. Having a hard time keeping contact with the bottom without getting snagged. have to use way to much weight to get a slower drift. even spoons and spinners dont stand a chance. I hope they slow it down some this week.

Fished this morning. There is open water at golden run behind the island. Got one crappie out from the ramp (released it). Went to the celery farm and got a few small crappie and one small gill. Ice was about 5" at golden run and about 4" at the celery farm. All fish caught on jigs and waxies.

Fished the celery farm this morning. Ice was a good 6" maybe more. Marked fish all morning some holes had a few fish here and there and other holes there were fish there worth fishing for. But they didn't want any breakfast. Only saw 2 guys catch fish. Alot of people though. Parking lot was full. Some guys off the swim beach. And about a dozen guys or so at golden run. The ice hardened up nicely. With the temps that are forcasted, we will have good ice for at least another week.

Hit golden run before the rain monday and got 30 on minnows. (We didn't have any so I used the dead ones that were laying on the ice.) Most were 10-12" with the two biggest 13.25". Bite was good but slowed at 10am but they were still hittin after that. Got some on waxies also. Everybody got fish. One guy go 40, we had 30, some guy got off when we left and he had about 25. Some nice perch were caught too. Later this week were gonin again. COME ON COLD!!

Just like that country song...... HELL YEAH!! There was more open water at golden run but the celery farm and the swim beach looked o.k. Let it harden up and then get out of the way. Where do you get your minnies? Just though I'd ask.

Hope to see you out there.

You guys are waiting for ice to build, and we're looking at main lake bodies that are open water with locked up ramp coves. Mother Nature is a bad, bad woman.........

So do i. This ice season is the craziest i've fished. No safe ice in late jan. and early feb., but good ice in march. We'll be icefishing 2 more weeks , the way these temps are going. Guess i'll pay another month of boat storage..........
