The wife and I went for a little ride yesterday and saw that CC boat launch was open so, we went home and I got the boat ready. My son and wife and I went to CC this morning and it was 21 degrees and when we got to the launch there was about an 1/8 of an inch of ice on the lake. There was one boat ahead of us and he was trying to bust thru the ice. I figured what the heck we were there may as well give it a try. We followed the first boaters trail thru the ice and we got out of the bay and into the main lake where there was some open water. We fished a few hours, I managed to catch one Large mouth bass and that was it. The wind was blowing pretty good and it was blowing the ice into the launch bay. I ran around in circles breaking ice with the waves a few times but, as the wind picked up it packed the ice in the bay so we thought it a good idea to get out before the ice got thicker. All in all it felt good to get out in the boat again. Water temp was 32.5
