My son and I went to Sayers Lake this afternoon. There were a few brave souls down near the dam out on what looked like some very porous ice, but much of the lake is thawing and there is a lot of open water.
Since the lake is at full drawdown, the old road across the middle of the lake is fully exposed and folks are taking advantage of it.
We each caught about a dozen crappie after we found what they were hitting on. Mostly 7-8 inchers, but a couple of larger ones. A few other folks caught a couple of 12-14" slabs. There was also a lone eagle that was catching a few small crappie, but he was definitely using a different technique to get 'em. :D
