    Default Fly Perch ?








    Caught this on the Chowan today, never seen one before, was told it was a "Fly Perch" ? Looked in the NC fish profiles not shown there....... ? ?
    Caught several small gils and one raccoon perch , all on nightcrawlers .....
    slow day

    just a real dark colored flier... fly perch just a local name for em

    That's definitely a Flier Sunfish!!! Look alot like a Crappie in the body with the head and mouth similar to a bluegill!!! Very pretty fish and a good fighter as well!!!

    oh yeah, thats a flier like these guys said. they bite real lite, and take the cork down real slow most of the times. have heard of people slapping the water with a cane pole a bunch, and then fishing there. they are supposed to be real curious.
