Awesome! I love days like that. Sounds extremely enjoyable. Thanks for sharing
Met my fishing buddy this morning around ten .
Partly cloudy , low to mid 70’s to mid 80’s before we headed home. Complete with the normal (seems like ) 10-20 mph winds.
Water has cleared up considerably.
I took four rod combos , my two new Major Craft rods and a couple of 5’ St Croix UL’s . All spooled up with 2# test P-line . Either Floroclear or green mist CXX .
Jigs were my .5g tungsten jigs with 1” curly tail in either black or chartreuse with glitter .
I’m back to swimming jigs , giving my wrists a break from twitching.
Now the good part . I had a Randy or Skeet kind of day .
In four hours , I caught sixty five fish , including 15 shellcrackers and 3 shellcracker hybrids .
The rest were small to medium bluegills , green sunfish, and a couple of small bass .
We left them biting!
The 5’ St Croix Premier and Avid rods stole the show today . What a joy to fish these favorites of mine . I don’t fish them enough .
With the two pound P-line I was getting cast I only dreamed about with the braid I was trying to make work .
I did lose one fish that wrapped me on a log , got loose , and I finally had to break off .
I think that was the only jig I lost today .
I did retie after about four or five fish .
Best day this year , so far . My fishing buddy caught thirty including a couple of nice bass and four or five nice shellcracker.

Big congrats! Those are some beautiful fish!
Let me tell you about that twitching. I did it for so long it gave me carpal tunnel syndrome. I mean it got so bad couldn’t sleep at night. Had surgeries on both wrists. Now of course that was when I was fishing 8-10 hours a day. After the surgery all was fine…that is until the De Quervain's showed up….LOL. I get a steroid shot on each thumb area about every 1.5 years for it.

You did have an excellent day!! That’s a lot of fish and those crackers had to be the stars of the day. Days like that, for me, are tough in that you forget to do things like stretch and drink water and put the net back in the right place. All things that make the day go better. You’ll be smiling into the weekend over this, and rightly so. Congrats on a great trip and I’m also glad that your bud wasn’t just watching and did well himself. Makes you want to go again tomorrow!

I didn’t want to come home ! LOL !
When we get to an area I fish to the left, my bud fishes the right .
The last spot we fished , my side was loaded with shellcracker. I invited my friend over to partake in the shellcracker fun .
Although most of the shellcracker were caught fan casting the area , some were caught jigging between the rock where we could see the shellcrackers swimming. Like catching fish in a barrel.
That only worked on a couple and they would shut down .
So happy I went back to my 2# line . A lot easier to fish the micro jigs I like to fish without the hassles that come with fishing braid .
