Default 4/22 starting to bed here..

Very cool and WINDY post cold front. I forgot my sweatshirt, and about froze, but the bluegill and shellcracker (and the dang ol' green fish) were hanging around the beds, and were biting. Caught and released about 20 in a couple hours, using red wigglers on a Daiwa SS tungsten jig. Headed back today - with a sweatshirt. Water temps 68-69F in this lake. Abu Realfinesse 6'7" STS rod w/Presso reel, 3 lb test Varivas TM line.

Today I couldn't buy a bream. Got down to 41F by morning, with strong winds, and the lake dropped 2 degrees. High pressure, bluebird sky, very windy. I went to the same spots as yesterday - ZERO fish. I mean none. Nada. I gave up looking the last hour, and managed to snipe a couple eater crappie up shallow on a trout magnet as plan B, but they were mostly fussy jig-followers that would not commit. Got two 13" fish for tacos, but a big green fish stole my jig twice. I'll call it even.
