Well it turned out to be a great day for fishing. Well….the wind was a bear but still caught a lot of fish…around 60 chunky bluegill and a few shell cracker. Found 3 beds with fish on them. I’m thinking these fish rushed it. The water temp was only 65 degrees. Pretty sure the best is yet to come at Bald Knob Lake. All fish caught on a Bison or Sow Bug colored Trout Magnet. Used 2 setups today. A Major Craft FineTail Banshee with a Presso 1000 reel. Next setup was an Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme with a Daiwa Ballistic FW 1000. I had an absolute ball today. The Diplomat was strung up with the Varivas ES2 Lemoni Ester. On the end was a Daiwa Ajing 1 gram tungsten jig head. It’s about as a sensitive set up as can be had. Been a long while since I fished with tungsten and the thump on that setup was electric! Majority of the bluegill were 8 inches. Gonna hit it again as soon as weather is OK. The wind is just out of hand here, and rain for next 5 days out of six.
