Sounds like a fun and enjoyable trip. Nice mix of fish. Thanks for sharing
Went fishing this morning to lake McIntosh.
The water is still dingy , but showing signs of clearing.
I picked a couple of short combos to take with me , a 5 St Croix Avid ULF paired with a Shimano Soare 500 BBspg and a 5 St Croix Premier ULM paired with a Shimano Soare 500 XRspg . Both were spooled with Daiwa J braid X8 and 4# Flouroclear leaders .
My first fish was a small shellcracker, the only one I caught today .
I caught twenty one fish total , with eleven of those being small to medium size crappie and a few small bluegills.
A couple of bass rounded out the catch , with one of those big enough to give the little five foot Premier a fun battle .
Five foot ultralights used to be my go to rods , and I still enjoy fishing with them .
Sounds like a fun and enjoyable trip. Nice mix of fish. Thanks for sharing

BTW , I’m taking my 5’6” Daiwa Iprimi XXUL tomorrow .
Not sure how much fishing time it’ll get , but it’s in the car .
And a 5’9” , 1 weight flyrod .
The bigger the Bend , the Wider the Grin !
Good luck when you go with the real little sticks. Those are some nice ones in the pics. I haven’t gotten a big largemouth in a while but I got 5 or 6 little ones yesterday.
