    Default Finally!

Finally got out to do some fishing. Had to fight the wind but caught about 60 bluegill with a few shell cracker in the mix. Used a Bison and Sow Bug Trout Magnet on a 1.5 gram jig head. Used the 67 Major Craft Banshee with a Daiwa Ballistic FW 1000 reel spooled with Varivas Lemoni Ester 2# test. Love that setup. The Banshee is a 2015 rod but have to say it’s a lot of fun and slap you in the face sensitive. Tried to go with TM under a float but that produced nothing. So twitched all day in the crazy wind. Most of the Gills were 8-9 inches. Good colors on these fish. The shell cracker were decent but not what I was catching there last spring. Not sure when I’ll get back out. Rain and or high winds next 6 days.

You’re right Randy, pretty colors on those gills. The cracker was no slouch either. Glad you found a window and got back out. Cabin fever is real! A man can only fondle the equipment so long and then he’s got to put it to use. Looks like a good day to me.

Congrats Randy , on getting out !
    Pretty fish !
This has been a strange year for wind .
I was supposed to have taken my boat out today but the forecasted wind drove me to bank fish .
Funny, the lake we fished today had light winds , where as , back home where we would have used the boat , had 10-15 forecasted with gusts to 26 .

Sweet. Those are pretty for sure. Good pics. Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can get back out there. Thanks for sharing.

Great th hear, if I could find bluegill that size consistently I'd be tempted to quit chasing crappie.

Good for you, Randy. You needed to wet a line. Those were nice, healthy looking pans!
