    Default Park Pond Worm Fishing

Hard to beat simple fishing and it doesn’t get much simpler then a hook with a red wiggler. Started our fishing adventure after lunch this afternoon at our favorite local park that includes two managed ponds and a creek with a deep enough pool to get a bite. The creek was our first stop today where we managed a few small but nicely colored sunfish a good start to what the rest of the afternoon had in store.

With the first cast jitters knocked away we headed over to one of the ponds and setup at a nice location with the sun hitting off a blowdown. At first we were tossing the worms with a bobber in tow not a single bite. My son says Dad over here a big fish and sure enough he wasn’t kidding. I decided to try and catch it by removing the bobber along with the weights first cast BAM a nice bluegill smacks it. At this point I feel like we may be on to something and sure enough we caught our fair share with plenty of excitement!

We drew some attention no doubt from some other anglers but one in particular another young boy around 9 or 10 hung out with my son and I. He was good company very respectful with an eagerness to see how I was catching. As we were about to leave I offered to setup his rig along with the rest of our bait we had plenty to share. He enthusiastically said YES SIR I would like that very much. I showed him where to cast it and told him to let it sit there and kid you not a fish smacked it. He went running up the hill saying Dad I caught one! It was fun to see we heard him catching as we walked back to the truck. My son looked up at me and said Dad your a good teacher. It was a fun day. Thanks for reading and be blessed!

We’ll remember the post for a good while but you probably taught your sons a great lesson about passing it on. He’ll remember that for life. Good Job Dad!! The student has become addicted this day, he’ll never be the same.
