Thread: Weekly Meetup Great Expectations!

Great Expectations as I headed out to meet up with my fishing friend.
Weather has been warm for several days. Light winds predicted with sunshine and near 80 high temp.
Things just don’t always work out like we think they should.
It seemed everybody read my mind . Fishermen were as thick as ticks .
The first two ramps were swamped with folks , so off to a third ramp area we went , were we finally got to wet a line .
After a couple of hours of tough fishing we checked on the second ramp we passed up and it was still occupied.
Our fourth stop was covered up in boat trailers and folks putting in and taking out , but we managed to catch a few , one of them being my biggest bass of the day that tried it’s best to wrap itself around a guys trailer .
The owner of the trailer, loading up was shocked at my catch since his day was a big skunk .
I managed to catch an even dozen fish including 5 bass , 4 green sunfish, one nice crappie , one small bluegill , and a new and PB catch for me on Trout Magnets , a flathead catfish .
Combo used today was a 6’6” St Croix UL Avid paired with a Shimano Soare XR 500spg .
Two fish were caught on a micro spinner , but the rest were caught on my tungsten jigheads and Trout Magnet bodies .
I thought for sure we were going to load up on catches today . But it was work . My buddy caught a dozen also , mostly green sunfish and small bass .

Those Flatheads sure are fun to catch on UL gear ! Nice catches !
