The funny thing is, we have been fishing together for a little more than 30 years, and she always wanted her rods "like she used when she was a kid". Yesterday, after that many years, she asked me "Why do you catch more fish than me?". I told her it was because my rods were more sensitive and I could cast a bit further with my reels. I also told her that with a spinning reel she wouldn't have those casting issues so much. She said "O.K., give me one.", and once she got used to casting it was on like donkey kong, lol. In about 3 casts she got that bass and was all grins the rest of the trip.

Sounds like a great trip, thanks for posting!
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

In fact, it is. I meant it when I said in another thread that if I could have walked in a store and touched this rod before I bought it that I would have bought 10 at one time. I am now trying to choose my next rod to purchase for two reasons. One, Mrs. GWG will be assuming ownership of at least two of my current rods and two, I have a Vanford with no rod to be on and let's be honest, you can't have that situation going on . I really appreciate all the input and advice I have received here as well as all the other posts folks have made that helped me make a decision. Some people can make a blind purchase all day long and never be phased, I am not one of them.

I also forgot to add, I like your stick boat. I had one before my bass boat and missed it so much that I’m now back in a 16’ Jon.

Thank you. I'll tell you the truth, I hate for people to see it in pics lol. It needs new carpet and it is always dirty from fishing and I really should take better care of it. I have had more boats than most folks have had cars and homes together lol. It is a sick addiction, and I don't see an end in sight. I always wanted a stick boat from back in my teenage days when I guy fishing in one came up the shore in one while I was bank fishing, and it has not disappointed one bit. I like to fix boats up and then send them on to a new owner after we use them for a bit. One day, the Mrs. wanted to go fishing and I was working on the boat we had been using and it was not ready. She got pretty upset and yelled at me "Why can't we have one boat that is ready to go when I am, that you don't have to work on or fix? Go buy one boat that is ours and doesn't need any work!". So, I did, and that boat is what I got. It is ours and ours alone and we love it.

Mine had zero interior except the brown n tan grass carpet on the floor. I can’t think of anyone that was in it that didn’t like it. I think your wife was just what you needed to find what may be the right boat for a long time.
