    Default Pet Check

rolled into my bluegill spot at my friend's place to check in on the bluegill .
they were in good spirits , biting every cast and pulling super hard ....
one looked to pass the 10 mark to me and lots of 9 inch fish were had.
the bites were non stop and as always a tiny jig and crappie nibble under a float made em play nicely .....
pretty shallow and getting more colorful daily ....good times no doubt
might have topped a 100 that visit ......
    KABOOM is the word yawl
btw ,,,,,could you mods and that owner guy find a real nice gunslinger emoji .....
    asking for a friend ....

Do you think those fish bite so good because they know they are getting released?
My buddy has been hammering the gills here with red and white spikes on small jigs under a Rocket bobber. Has to cast 40-50feet and is able to see light bites.

Is this a pond? Very nice either way, you just mentioned "at your friends place". If it is, judging by the pics, it is very well managed.

that spot is a small private lake , it isn't managed at all , the fish are left to do what fish do , we "managed" it really hard a few years ago by whacking several thousand crappie to leave the water , it was flat out full of small crappie and the bluegill looked rough , really skinny for sure .....
fast forward to 2 years later and them bluegill are REALLY thriving ...
