Met up with my fishing buddy around 11 and fished until 3:30 .
Lake level was two feet lower than last week and had nice chocolate milk color to it .
Sunny with a mid 60’s forecast high with a light breeze .
Started out to be one of those days, got held up by a train going through a small town on the way and had to find away around it . It was still there on the way home .
So was the two locations where they were working or paving the road with only one side open , with a pilot vehicle that i followed for over two miles once it was my turn .
My first cast , I landed a nice crappie . Three casts later , a nice spotted bass .
I went on to catch eight spotted bass with the largest being around three pounds . Three small bluegills were also caught .
All caught on homemade Tungsten bead jigs and shortened Trout Magnet bodies , in black or black/chartreuse .
Most were caught on 6’6” St Croix rods . A Triumph and Avid models . Reels were Shimano Soare XR C2000sspg and a Soare BB c2000spg . All loaded with Daiwa X8 J Braid and 4# Floroclear leader .
Mostly a bass day , but a blast on ultralight .
