    Default Size matters

I got out yesterday for some pond fishing. Took two rods, one rigged with a tiny 1/24 duck feather jig and the other with a bigger 1/16 with a #4 hook. Smaller bait was 1.25" long and the other about 2.5" in length. Still snow on the ground on shaded east side of the lake. Fished along dam since I caught some nice crappie there last time but it was slow and only had ten or so after a couple hours. Everything caught on the smaller bait, don't think I even got a look with the bigger bait even though I probably used it more than I should have. Moved to shady, shallower water and little bait gets hammered on almost every cast. Spent more time reeling in fish than casting and working the bait. This jig got destroyed but I caught over 100 on this jig. Feathers were gone and just the thread and flash remained and they were still eating it.
