Sounds like an enjoyable day. Thanks for sharing
It’s early still, but the weather is cooperating to allow at a weekly trip .
Today was sunny mid to upper sixties for the highs .
The lake was muddy and about two feet down from a couple days ago , but still a couple feet up from our trip last week . Low visibility.
We had a heck of a rain last weekend into Monday .
My main rod combo was a 6’6” St Croix Avid UL , paired with a Shimano Soare XR500spg , loaded with Daiwa J braid X8 in light gray with a 4# P-line Floroclear leader .
Lures were homemade Tungsten jigs with Trout Magnet lures . Most productive was solid black .
I caught one spotted bass , two crappies , a green sunfish , and ten small gills .
My buddy caught one bass and seven warmouth. On Trout magnets and roostertails .
Not a great day , but I’ll take it in February.
Best day this year , so far .
With the SC rod with the Daiwa J Braid I could feel every little tap . I like this combo .
