    Default I was hoping

The long range forecast for this Friday , two days ago had it near 70 and partly cloudy after an early morning rain . But stopping around six am .
The closer we get, the timeline for the rain keeps changing.
Now it’s got heavy rain until just after noon . With more rain and cooler Saturday.
This has been the overall coldest we’ve had this time of year in a few years .
Hadn’t been that wet , just enough to keep me in the house .
Hopefully it’ll settle down soon and warm up to at least average temps.

We got a couple inches of rain since Monday which froze as soon as it hit the ground initially creating a huge ice skating rink so never left the house. Hoping for more rain to help thaw the frozen lakes quicker since temps are in the 40's now. Going to try and find open water somewhere today. Warmer weather is forecast so hope ice leaves in a few days.

I too have been dealing with either wind or rain for a bit. I’m supposed to have good temps and moderate winds Saturday and I’m going to run to the coast and try my luck. Hope the bottom doesn’t fall out of the forecast before I get it done. Y’all stay warm and I hope you can get out some.

Got out Wednesday and checked ice on lake for thickness. Still have close to 4" of the hard stuff on the lake, so foggy I couldn't see across the lake maybe 100 yards wide. Had the lake to myself. Someone made several ice holes along the front of the dock so thought I'd try for a bit. Ended up catching two trout and a little gill jigging a 1/24 purple/black bunny jig through those little holes while standing on the dock. Don't trust the ice even though a couple people came later and walked out on it. Name: IMG_4735.jpg

Rain and flooding here. Ice is all but gone and the hunting equipment has been stowed away until next year. Time to get ready for spring fishing.

We have had a pretty soggy week here but at least the temperature is up. 17 degrees at night is not what I expect here.

I’ve been checking the forecast for today since I got up this morning around 6:30 .
It said mostly cloudy with a chance of showers this evening in the area I had wanted to go fish .
I just checked and now it’s saying a 65% chance of rain beginning around 1pm until evening.
I think the so called meteorologist today are relying too much on computers to make their forecasts for them .
They can’t predict the next hour let alone the next day .
Too much AI if you asked me.

Beautiful trout. Smart move not trusting the ice!
